This is how we’re currently thinking about AI at Superhive. Like the tech itself, our approach will evolve, but one thing won’t change: we’re here to support and foster a creative, safe community for creatives.

This is a living document, and like the tech itself, it will evolve. We’re closely following the U.S. Copyright Office rulings surrounding AI and Copyright.

AI isn’t an easy topic in the creative world, but it’s one to explore together, with open minds and a shared sense of responsibility. As artists, creators, and people, it’s on us to have the conversation, to understand it, and to help human creativity thrive.

TL;DR Summary

It’s reasonable to be concerned about how AI is changing creative industries. We don’t have all the answers at Superhive, but we’re trying. Fully AI-generated products aren’t allowed. AI tools can assist, but never replace, your creativity. Your work is your own, and we won’t use it to train AI without your explicit opt-in.

Data and Content Privacy

Our Commitment: Your creative work is yours, first and foremost. Superhive will never license, sell, or provide your products for AI training purposes without your explicit consent.

Customer Use Disclaimer: We don’t allow your products to be used for AI training without consent, but once purchased, we can’t fully control how a customer uses them outside our platform.

Data Management: You’re able to adjust how much information you share with Superhive, download your data, and delete your data from the Superhive Privacy Center.

Your Choice to Opt-In

Opt-In Licensing for AI Training: We understand that licensing creative work for AI training is a sensitive topic and is rapidly changing. We also recognize from past experiences that such opportunities can be financially beneficial for some creators, but must be approached with care.

Explicit and Voluntary Consent: You must proactively opt-in; no creator is automatically included by default. Opting in once does not imply ongoing or blanket permission. We believe in clear, case-by-case agreements.
Transparency of Terms: Due to the nature of agreements and confidentiality clauses, we may not always be able to disclose full details about training data usage. However, we promise clear and upfront communication about your licensed assets' general use case and scope whenever possible.
Fair and Clearly Defined Compensation: You will always clearly understand compensation terms before opting in.

How Superhive Uses AI Internally

We occasionally use AI tools to support platform development, monitor infrastructure, and assist with customer and creator support. AI has found its way into many of the third-party tools we use to run Superhive and into our day-to-day workflows, so let’s talk about it.

Product Description Support: We may use AI tools to help creators improve their product descriptions, offering grammar checks, clear phrasing, translation, and concise summaries. This is especially helpful for creators who find writing challenging or for whom English isn’t a first language. We aim to support better communication, not replace the creator’s voice. A human always reviews the final content.
Customer Support: The services we use for support offer AI summaries, auto-reply suggestions, and auto-corrections that our team may lean on to improve efficiency and clarity. AI direct answers may be offered as an option.
Security & Development: Some of our infrastructure and security services are AI-assisted to help monitor threats and protect the platform. Additionally, our team may use AI tools to assist with tasks like code review or debugging, always with human oversight and discretion.

Creator (Seller) AI Responsibilities

AI tools can improve the efficiency of drafting descriptions, troubleshooting code, generating ideas, or improving communication.

That said, creators should be mindful of the U.S. Copyright Office guidance: a human must make meaningful creative decisions for a work to be protected by copyright. Simply generating content through AI prompts isn't enough. But using AI to assist, edit, or contribute to a broader human-made creation is permissible.

A Person is driving: Sellers must keep human creativity at the center of their workflow. AI may assist, but the product must reflect thoughtful, critical thinking, input, and creativity from a human.

Transparency Around AI Use: We encourage creators to be transparent about how AI tools were used in their creative process. While disclosure is not strictly required in every case, it’s strongly recommended, especially when AI played a significant role in shaping the product.

Honest communication builds trust with customers and helps keep the Superhive community informed as the line between human and machine continues to evolve.

Here are some examples of how to share your process:

“This texture was initially generated using an AI tool and then manually painted and adjusted in Photoshop and Blender to meet project needs.”
“Base mesh created with the help of an AI generator, then fully retopologized, sculpted, and UV-unwrapped by hand.”
“Parts of this add-on’s code were generated using an AI coding assistant and then reviewed, edited, and integrated manually.”

We understand that AI is integrated into many modern tools and workflows, and it may not always be practical (or even possible) to track every touchpoint. We’re more interested in intent and craftsmanship than rigid checklists.

Quality & Responsible Standards: AI-assisted products must consistently meet Superhive’s high-quality standards and demonstrate significant human input.

Verification: Sellers may be requested to provide evidence of human modification if a product is suspected of excessive reliance on AI-generated content.

Promotional Materials & Product Representation: Thumbnails, previews, and promotional imagery must accurately and authentically represent the actual product and its human-led creative effort. It’s worth noting that it is illegal under the FTC Act to make false or misleading representations about a product.

AI Product Guidelines

Let’s talk about what we mean when we say something is AI-assisted: These are tools or features that assist or enhance creative tasks using artificial intelligence, but they don’t take over the whole job. They help you work smarter, not for you to disappear from the process.

AI tools hosted on Superhive to boost creativity are allowed as long as a person is still driving the work. Fully AI-generated products, with little or no human input, aren’t allowed.

A good rule of thumb: AI can amplify your creativity, but it shouldn’t replace it.

Allowed

Tools, scripts, or add-ons that support artists in their workflow (like speeding up tasks, generating variations, or assisting with cleanup).
These are allowed as long as the person is still making the creative decisions and adhering to Superhive policies.

Allowed With Conditions

Be thoughtful: Listing something for sale as “commercial use” means you’re confident it follows copyright laws. That responsibility is yours as the creator.
AI-generated textures are generally okay if you’ve significantly edited them and woven them into a larger creative workflow.
AI-assisted 3D models can be allowed if you’ve put in serious documented work, like sculpting, retopology, or major design adjustments, to make it truly yours.
Product descriptions: You can use AI to help with brainstorming or grammar, but the final description needs to be written and approved by you to keep it original and trustworthy.
Honesty is a must: It’s encouraged to be clear in your product description about how you used AI. Buyers deserve to know how something was made, and it builds trust in your work and propels us collectively in the creative community.

❌ Not Allowed on Superhive

Products that are fully AI-generated with little to no human input: meaning the AI did almost all the creative work.
- Example: a 3D character generated by typing a prompt, with minimal sculpting, texturing, or rigging by you.
- Example: AI-generated texture and or model bundles.
- Example: A tool 100% coded by AI with little to no human input.

How Superhive Implements and Enforces AI Usage

Manual Review of Products: Submissions may undergo review to ensure substantial human artistic involvement for new creators.
Violations Will Be Subject to Removal: Any product relying excessively on AI without meaningful human intervention will be rejected or removed from the platform.
Violation Response Process: If a product leans too heavily on AI without meaningful human work, we’ll disable the product and reach out. You’ll have a chance to revise it or clarify its creation in the description. If no changes are made within 7 days, it may be removed.
Repeated or Egregious Violations: In cases of repeated non-compliance or deliberate attempts to mislead customers about AI use, further action may be taken, including account suspension or removal from the platform with or without further notifications from Superhive.
Evolving Policy: This policy will adapt regularly as AI technology develops. Our goal here is to approach it collaboratively and help raise awareness and education surrounding this tech.

Policy Review and Adaptation

Given the rapidly evolving landscape of AI technology, this policy will be reviewed and updated regularly. Adjustments may be made to help it remain relevant, practical, and aligned with community expectations and technological developments.

Acknowledgment of Subjectivity: We recognize that determining what constitutes "meaningful human intervention" can involve subjective judgment. Superhive will make every effort to apply this policy consistently and fairly, but some ambiguity may remain.
